    will typically cover on-the-job injury.

    The problem is, of course, that firefighting poses hazards other than the immediate threat of on-the-job injury; the long term effects of smoke inhalation, heavy lifting, and other unavoidable aspects of being a firefighter can cause problems years down the line.
