  •  I wish Stewart would have done a better job (3+ / 0-)

    of handling this to keep the public a bit more in the know about this.  It was just uncovered in an expose yesterday that disproves the allegations, but instead we have had a week of people harping on it as, guilty as charged.  I know Stewart is just a comedian, but he is one with significant influence in the court of public opinion.  This was a miss that could cost the party dearly.

      already knows what this is all about. Stewart is not responsible in any way for where public opinion is on this.

        of outrage from the left instead of casually conceding that we were wrong (when we weren't).  If constituents were more informed (left and center), they would be prepared to put heat on the conservadems.  Instead of that, we are now looking at them getting a free pass without even our own media defending us.

        Because he and Colbert are humorists, they are much more acceptable to the mainstream.  CNN and MSNBC can't resist repeating excerpts of his takedowns, and they do it without the usual right-left caveat.
