with on the mandate. I don't like it at all. But let's be honest. Single payer was not gonna happen. It can happen in the future but not right now. I think this law sets it in motion.

Now, in regards to the commerce clause, I agree with you but the conservatives obviously don't agree. If they didn't limit the commerce clause with this case, they would've done it in the future. I'm certainly not lionizing Roberts at all. But like I said, can you not be happy for people that will get healthcare or stay on their insurance plans?

Maybe Roberts was thinking that far in advance but do you really think he would bank on Romney winning and the Republicans taking control to get rid of it? Redstate visitors and other sites like that are idiots but, let me ask you a question, do you think they would have wanted Roberts to strike it down now or wait for Romney to do it?

that they managed to limit the commerce clause in such a way that most people don't realize it and they don't get backlash from the left for it.

that's the point of the original comment.

and Romney doesn't have to win for Roberts to have done this with those things in mind. he gets those limits on the commerce clause and spending power no matter who is president and it's in the Court's precedent from now on.
