  •  Are you serious? I didn't know that. (12+ / 0-)

Well, heck, in that case, let me dictate Holder's response:

    Dear Members of Congress,
I have taken your request under consideration. My decision is, in the words of our esteemed former Vice-President Dick Cheney:

    Eric Holder.

Congress has no power to enforce laws.

So they are officially declaring that they view this action as a crime and would like the one and only agency with jurisdiction of prosecuting federal crimes to use its subpoena powers in order to present evidence to a grand jury that could then issue an indictment.

And since that will surely fail, the only other appeal they have for judicial review would be to try to get this under the USDOJ Office of Special Council, which has jurisdiction over investigation of misconduct in the Executive Branch.  This position is currently held by one Mr. Patrick J. Fitzgerald.

And if the GOP is so desperate that they turn to Patrick Fitzgerald as their savior, I believe a Mr. Cheney and Mr. I. Scooter Libbey will want to have some words with them.
