  •  So we can do away with Government. (0+ / 0-)

We can have private Police and Fire, and simply mandate people pay for them.  We can fine those who "refuse" to pay money they don't have, and at the same time deny them the help of Police and Fire services.

    Makes perfect sense.

It's like making you pay a certain amount per month for 2 million Blackwater Mercs, and then fining you if you don't cough up, instead of levying taxes to pay our own military.

Thinking the "food stamp challenge" teaches you about being poor is like thinking a camping trip will give you insight into being homeless.

Society chooses things it will pay for and then forces people to pay for it.

We already have private companies doing a lot of work for government.

I'm not saying I wouldn't prefer it to all be strictly public, but it's disingenuous to pretend that the health insurance mandate is philosophically anything new.

I don't want to pay for all the privately contracted soldiers we have or all the bombs we buy. But evidently a military, like healthcare, is something society has decided is necessary to all chip in and make mandatory.

I'd rather pay for some sick kid's treatment than some Christofascist soldier's paycheck. So it goes.

      •  Apparently, you'd rather pay a CEO's bonus (0+ / 0-)

than pay for a sick kids treatment.

I'll just let this blanket description

        some Christofascist soldier's paycheck
of our military speak for itself.

Thinking the "food stamp challenge" teaches you about being poor is like thinking a camping trip will give you insight into being homeless.
