  •  I read that we are all 50th cousins or closer (4+ / 0-)

    usually much closer.

I would think that the 50th cousins would be (say) an Ainu person living in Northern Japan and (say) one of the isolated tribes in the Amazon.

The Bushmen of the Kalahari & either one of those isolated tribes of the Amazon or the inhabitants of the Andaman Islands. (The latter are one of the last remaining uncontacted people of the world. Considering that when modern civilization forced ourselves upon their southern cousins it led to endemic social demoralization, perhaps it is best they remain uncontacted until further notice.)

Based on what I've read, the genetic tree of modern man bifurcates between the Bushmen & the rest of humanity; the next large fork is between a couple of small tribal people in Africa &, again, the rest of us.

These genetic findings make the obsession over the color of our skin far more trivial & silly than most educated folks suspect.
