    If a person only finds out after they've gone down the slippery slope? Sorry, we'll have to agree to disagree. Some drugs are too dangerous to ignore. As I noted in another comment, if we legalize, with appropriate controls,  those that are no worse than alcohol or nicotine we almost assuredly reduce the demand for some of these dangerous chemical cocktails (like meth) that are cheaper and more available due to the war being on all drugs of all kinds.

      Because then more will understand the signs of addiction if it's not hidden. That's one of the biggest problems with drugs being illegal.

      Being forewarned is being forearmed.

      And totally agree that if people can get the less addictive drugs legally, they will more likely pass on the more addictive ones.
