That delivery of "God Bless America" in the week leading up to the Florida primary would loosen almost anyone's bowels.

    •  Which is why music education is so important! (8+ / 0-)

I'd put my (former) 2nd graders up against Mitt in a sing-off anytime.

    •  Lots of us can't sing, but we don't make a fool (3+ / 0-)

out of ourselves trying it because we have an army of sycophants telling us how good we sound.. Did anyone think that was a good idea? Now I understand Murrdouch's tweet. The Romney Campaign is not ready for prime time. To think that many will be appointed to jobs within the administration should have everyone worried.

      •  A while back there was a clip of Ted (0+ / 0-)

Kennedy, visiting very young children in school, singing the "Itsy Bitsy Spider Climbed Up a Water Spout" song.

Ok, it wasn't the best vocal performance ever.

On the other hand, next to Romney's "God Bless America," it was polished opera.

a school, don't give a rat's ass whether or not you can hold a tune. They only care that you know the same song they know. As I said earlier I can not sing to save my soul and I taught pre-school for years, never did I have one complaint from one of the kids about my singing. It is just now that my two oldest grandsons are 12 and 15 that they tell me how bad I really am in the singing department, the younger ones are either too polite or they don't realize it yet.
Not only was the singing so bad, but it was insulting to those older people to let them suffer through it, they are not children, and can tell the difference between o.k. singing and crap.
Not only am I now one of those "seniors", but I have worked with many for years, and they know good singing from bad singing. Remember these folks grew up listening to some of the great vocalists, they know the difference, they are not stupid, they are just older.
