  •  Refusing exchanges is a non-option (5+ / 0-)

Either Tallahassee sets up an exchange for Florida, or Washington DC sets up an exchange for Florida.

Either way, Florida will have a health exchange. (And I suspect the tea-party calculation will be "better to do it ourselves than to have the damned fed'ruls come in and do it")

It's the Medicaid package that governors are really balking about. Which is stupid, because it will cost the state close to nothing for the next decade (and nearly nothing thereafter) and it's a buttload of money that will feed into their economy.

I think Gov. Dean was the one who mentioned that a poor state like South Carolina could see a 2-4% increase in state-level GDP just from Medicaid expansion alone.

That kind of increase across our poorest states would put us into "not a recession anymore" territory.

sin and love and fear are just sounds that people who never sinned nor loved nor feared have for what they never had and cannot have until they forget the words

      It's because they're acting like 5-year-olds who've been told they can't have their way. It's full-on tantrum/meltdown mode.

Freedom isn't free. So quit whining and pay your taxes.
