  •  it's funny because it's always in the back (4+ / 0-)

of my mind. and i find myself driving by, watching it being re-built. It's not as though there aren't others in town, it's just that is the one closest to my house and therefore the one i go to get the obligatory shamrock shake and big mac and then the other big mac i get when the id takes over. Normally, i don't even notice the place. but you are right. My friends had their neighborhood big mac torn down last year and the new one looks way nicer (they too never eat there but had big mac fits when it was gone). I guess that is one way to get people to eat their poop burgers...i wish i could kill my id...i am thankful that i wasn't raised on the arches though. the big poop burger was a "treat" growing up. The shamrock shake was a HUGE treat (which is probably why i go and get one when they are available). So it's easy to ignore those fast-food joints. I prefer the mom & pop diners for the obligatory cheeseburger or fried chicken fix.

but the id shall not abide....

    •  I don't eat the food, but their bathrooms (5+ / 0-)

are typically really clean, so they're great for pitstops.

is scheduled for teardown and rebuild at the end of this month.  Sure do like their Sr. coffees.  And Big Macs.
I know, I know.  Don't flame me.  Mr. hm and I split a Big Mac meal every now and then.

abide and has to be satisfied at least once a year (with a shamrock shake) and I know, I know i usually get another one in the same year. I got one this year already (with shamrock) and now my id is just having a fit that the damn store is closed. I can drive by the other one across town with no problem. But i just know when this new/old one re-opens, there i will be, humiliated, getting that big mac because the kid in me demands it...it's just sad.
