    She also wrote "Dear and Glorious Physician" about Saint Luke, and "Great Lion of God" about St. Paul - not to mention some short stories (if you can call them that) featuring a "Listener."

    She had a major hatred of modernism, that much I remember.

    Also, much earlier, romance writer Grace Livingston Hill set a few of her stories in biblical-era times - they were pretty awful - and there was another author, Marjorie Holmes (thank you, Google!) who wrote a few books about the early life of Jesus.  I tried reading one, but couldn't get much farther in than a few pages.
