  •  If whistleblowers blow their whistles (13+ / 0-)

about government wrongdoing and illegalities, are they heard in the sound proof room of government censorship and control?

    Wake up folks!

Whistleblowers are the canaries in the anathema to the Constitution government coal mine of 'dark side' silence and suppression.

Imagine for the moment what it's like to have the government on your tail for several years because you have became the PRIMARY target of a multi-million dollar criminal national security 'leak' investigation, monitoring and tracking practically all of your day to day activities, physically and electronically -- your every association, all of your phone calls, your e-mails - turning your life completely inside out with a high res surveillance microscope.
Imagine having any number of National Security Letters issued against your providers (I still can't discuss them because they are sealed)?

    How would you feel?

Imagine for the moment that the government conducts an armed raid of your house with a bogus search warrant approved under trumped up state secrets assertions and allegations while your family is there, turning your very residence inside out?

Imagine having a dozen agents in your house for some 10 hours because they decided to make you a bad guy and wanted to remove any and all incriminating unclassified whistleblower evidence given as a material witness to two 9/11 Congressional investigations and a DoD IG investigation against the government that would hold them culpable for 9/11, revealing huge contract fraud, abuse and waste to the tune of many billions (while the best of American ingenuity and inventiveness was left in the gutter), the deployment of a tippy top secret program approved directly by the White House making the NSA the Executive Agent (in concert with compliant telecommunications concerns) for a now incredible vast, overarching, simply MASSIVE illegal dragnet electronic surveillance program for the purpose of "knowing everything" there is to know about as many people as possible, and that willfully violates the 4th Amendment and the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act when in fact NSA had the legal means to go after real bad guys and doing so completely legally (never violating the 4th Amendment rights of Americans), while faithfully executing the law of the law without EVER having to go to Pandora's Box of the dark side.
Imagine having the Chief Prosecutor from the DoJ assigned to your case directly threaten you with spending the rest of your natural life in prison, if you didn't cooperate with the government, while interrogating you in a sealed classified national security facility?

Imagine that it then takes the government some 2.5 YEARS to actually find a way to indict you (after going through a couple of prosecutors) with 10 felony counts (including five under the Espionage Act), facing some 35 years in prison after attempting to coerce you into pleading guilty multiple times to something you NEVER did?

Imagine having critical exculpatory evidence withheld from your defense and having the evidence doctored, manipulated and misdirected for their own malicious ends?

Imagine having your cooperating statements with the government modified so the truth of what you said is turned into a falsehood or even having them manufacture evidence in the absence of any evidence against you?
Imagine that you know you are the test case (if the government were to prevail) in establishing the precedent for an official secrets act and the basis for a secret National Security Court system where the executive branch is the judge, jury and executioner?

Imagine the relief of having your criminal defense team hold back the government in the court room and then having your own presiding judge validate that there is a 3rd branch of government with the presence of law and history to admonish the executive from the bench for their unconscionable conduct against me and that it did not pass the smell test?

Imagine the incredible support and advocacy I received from the Government Accountability Project under the superb leadership and legal acumen of Jesselyn Radack in defending my fundamental Constitutional rights as a whistleblower in the court of public opinion?

Think I might have a few issues with the government turning me into a traitor and turncoat and criminal defendant for exercising my 1st Amendment rights?

Think I might object just a bit to the reality that my whistleblowing on the government about their criminal violations of law and statute, fraud and abuse became criminalized?

That is what I have lived at the hands of my own government.

Think I might just have something to say about what is happening to our Constitutional form of government and what it portends for our future?

Think I might just have some issues with the vast expanse of the secret national security regime - a cancer on the body of the Constitution?
Think I might just have a wee bit of concern about the country I want to keep?

      corrupt gravy train.

      Trailblazer Project:

Trailblazer was chosen over a similar program named Thinthread, a less costly project which had been designed with built in privacy protections for US citizens.[4][3] Trailblazer was later linked to the NSA electronic surveillance program and the NSA warrantless surveillance controversy.[3]

In 2002 a consortium led by Science Applications International Corporation [SAIC] was chosen by the NSA to produce a technology demonstration platform in a contract worth $280 million. Project participants included Boeing, Computer Sciences Corporation, and Booz Allen Hamilton. The project was overseen by NSA Deputy Director William B. Black, Jr., an NSA worker who had gone to SAIC, and then been re-hired back to NSA by NSA director Michael Hayden in 2000.[6][7][8] SAIC had also hired a former NSA director to its management; Bobby Inman.[9] SAIC also participated in the concept definition phase of Trailblazer.[10][11]

      SAIC (company):
The company has had as part of its management, and on its Board of Directors, many well known ex-government personnel including Melvin Laird, Secretary of Defense in the Nixon administration; William Perry, Secretary of Defense for Bill Clinton; John M. Deutch, President Clinton's CIA Director; Admiral Bobby Ray Inman who served in various capacities in the NSA and CIA for the Ford, Carter and Reagan administrations; and David Kay who led the search for weapons of mass destruction for the U.N. following the 1991 Gulf War and for the Bush Administration following the 2003 Iraq invasion.
They couldn't allow anyone to get away with doing that.

The influence of the [executive] has increased, is increasing, and ought to be diminished.
