the diarist that was recounted by the diarist in the context of telling a story.   Who's next on the hit list?  Mark Twain.  Please.

been rendered effectively without the bigoted slur on a subculture of the population.

Taken literally, are we to believe that all medical clinicians in the Military are gay?  I'd have to see documentation that that was true, as I believe it to be false, and even if it were true, their sexual orientation has nothing whatsoever to do with their skill as clinicians or their service to their country.

It was slur, plain and simple.  The diarist should return to his/her diary and address the responses received.

as usual you've taken the wrong side. The diarist clearly explained the point and you totally dropped the ball again.

btw, You've been missing lately, has the GOP embarrassed you that badly? Or is it just your ole buddy Mitt?

America could have chosen to be the worlds doctor, or grocer. We choose instead to be her policeman. pity

Some of us are just over-sensitive drama queens.

        •  I know that words can hurt. (0+ / 0-)

Even when used in the telling of a story, where other people used the words - but stories need to be told as they happened.  That can't always be in a PC way.
I get it.  I just don't agree that an author has to self censor when telling a story that includes a recounting of the insensitivity of others.

          Peace.

PS:  Maybe the author didn't come back because he or she was at a picnic, or afraid to enter the crossfire.  Don't assume the worst.
