  •  Dear Bill Kristol, (11+ / 0-)
Is it too much to ask Mitt Romney to get off autopilot and actually think about the race he's running
Yes, it is. He can't do either of those things. Mitt can't get off autopilot because he doesn't have any other kind of pilot. He can't run on the issues because he doesn't care enough about any of these issues  to have even a ghost of an inkling of an opinion about them.

Clearly, thinking about the race and its issues produces only a blank, white screen in Mitt's head. His advisers' attempts to attach metallic particles to the screen in meaningful clumps is frustrated by Mitt's inveterate habit of wiping it clean every day or so. Mitt prefers his screen to be blank. That's why his eyes are blank.

You should have figured this out in 2008.

    Sincerely,

    (bludge)

    •  And his campaign just does these stupid things (1+ / 0-)

like ranting against a historic landmark bridge in New Hampshire as a waste of transportation funding, or crowing about the "self-reliance" of American farmers while standing on a farm that had been preserved with nearly $2 million in Federal and State land preservation funding.  Unfortunately, the press never calls him out on these inconsistencies since they are busy with their stenographic duties.
