For some reason, elections in the Netherlands are always held on Wednesdays, and (at least that's what I'm told) paper ballots are required by law.

Blind people have a standing complaint about elections, namely that there's no completely secret ballot for them — they always have to let at least one other (sighted) person in on their choices, and furthermore have no way of verifying if that person is marking the ballot as they wish or not.

The Dutch kids' chorus Kinderen voor Kinderen wishes all the world's children freedom from hunger, ignorance, and war.

...a combination sound/tactile "solution" for the visually impaired so that their voting could be as secret as for all other voters. It may well exist right now, or could be patched together from current "off the shelf" technologies.

Such a solution is too often seen as "an exorbitant, additional expense that only benefits a small number of people," instead of a societal requirement to expand full and complete voting rights to ALL citizens.
