    ...self improvement is essential.

    Even for white collar workers, hell, doctors even, it is imperative to keep skills up to date.

    It is certainly difficult for minimum wage workers to find opportunities for self-improvement, but that is what you have to do in order to make more than minimum someday.

    Again, am I defending this state of affairs? No, but it is what it is. Helping these people politically may be a desirable goal but they would be fools to depend on it.

      Aren't we  people who dream about what could be and ask, "Why not?" If I look at a failed "market economy" and say, "Well, it is what it is," then I have failed too -- as a moral human being.

      I'll believe that corporations are people when Texas executes one.

        Which is better advice for people who work for minimum wage or are 16:

        (a) Improve skill set, try to get better work.
        (b) Wait for political movement to rescue you.
