if it was money, then you'd expect it to be detectives from Operation Elveden, the paying public officials investigation, rather than operation weeting, the phone hacking investigation who arrested him, and im sure I've seen somewhere it was weeting detectives

before and wondering if the IT area would end up dragged in. YAY!

if a habitat is flooded, the improvement for target fishes increases by an infinite percentage...because a habitat suitability index that is even a tiny fraction of 1 is still infinitely higher than zero, which is the suitability of dry land to fishes.

This is a classic strategy. Haul in some kid who's far from a primary participant in the conspiracy and scare the bejezus out of him. Does the Crown in the UK do deals the way so often happens in the US?

Plea bargaining is not regarded as a commendable formal practice in the UK. There are strong legal arguments that Plea Bargaining is in breach of the European Convention of Human Rights (which is incorporated into UK Law) because it gives scope for coercion of defendents.

There is a weak from of bargaining where prosecution and defence lawyers agree that certain charges will be dropped, but the courts have made it clear that they are never bound by pre-trial agreements as to penalties imposed for the actual offences presented to court.

The sequence of events is more likely to involve charging someone with the offence of 'accessory before the facts' with the clear option of upping this to a charge of being a principal offender when the case comes to trial.

However some people do see ducks quaking and walking around freed by courts and wonder if the avoidance of plea-bargaining is quite as clear as it might be.

Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent.

you were doing that, then it would be very, off the books, and they'd want to be somewhere geographically distant so trackbacks to yours wouldnt make links. (and for another thing, would you trust them enough to be inside your own network security)?
