      I think it's really the extent to which something gets turned into an outrage.  I think such battles should be saved for when there is truly malicious intent.

        In this case the diarist is either right or wrong and chose to provide no evidence to back up their accusation.

          malicious, they should be responsible for the perceptions of other people.  Which I don't agree with.  For some of the more outrageous cases, sure--I was just reading an article about the 'Chink in the Armor' title in a piece about Jeremy Lin--that was probably accidental, but pretty glaring, so an editor should have caught that.

          This example, not in the least.
