Seriously, this is the first paragraph:

I was with a group of people who ordered Domino's Pizza this past weekend. When the pizzas came, some of them, called "Artisan Pizzas" came in this box in box with the phrase "NO IS THE NEW YES" in large font across the top. Almost everyone in the room of about a dozen people collectively went "WTF?"

I’m a feminist because the message is still "don’t get raped" not "don’t rape"

The suggestion that I was the only one who noticed this is absurd. Seriously, we were basically all looking at each other going, "Really? They thought THAT was a good idea???"

It wasn't just me, it was a room of over a dozen smart, aware progressives.

I also think using the argument that "I couldn't find anyone else on the internet that was bothered by it" to write me off as overreacting or bending over backwards to make connections that aren't there is pretty silly. I mean, seriously, how many bloggers do you know?

I tweeted it to Eve Ensler and she immediately retweeted. Those who are on the front lines fighting this bullshit know it needs to be called out whereever it is found. I don't give a damn if it was intentional or not, it's offensive.

(Sorry for the typos in that opening graf, btw. Unfortunately, I can't edit posts once they are published due to some weird firewall issue at work.)

      •  I never said anything about the internet but (0+ / 0-)

just wondered if the people you mentioned in your Comment were all in the same basic mindset before the pizza box appeared and therefore could be expected to react the same way?

I'd tip you but they cut off my tip box. "There is more stupidity than hydrogen in the universe, and it has a longer shelf life.” - Frank Zappa
