This "scandal" will fade with time.  This will become but an asterisk in the history of Penn State -that something awful happened way back when at the hands of a sick individual.  Some other news-worthy event will happen and all of the focus on Penn State will dissolve.  People will go back to their daily lives and focus on their own problems, however big or small they may be.

Penn State is not "branded" with this scandal.  The only ones who will carry this with them for the rest of their lives are the children who were allegedly sexually abused by Jerry Sandusky.  They are the ones who suffer today and tomorrow and will spend a lifetime dealing with this "scandal."  They are the one who will carry the scars.  They are the ones who are the victims here - not Penn State, not Joe Paterno, not you.

I continue to be apalled that the shock and outrage being expressed in the media by alumni and students alike (riots) are for Joe Paterno - and not for these little children.

Who cries for them?  Who yells and screams for the atrocities inflicted on their lives?  Who protests the leadership of Penn State demanding answers to the question - how could this happen here?

It's so easy to forget the victims because there isn't a "face" to put to them.  Nameless, faceless victims,

As a victim of child sexual abuse, I welcome the media's attention to this subject.  This is a conversation we want to continue - because it is the only way that some will listen.

Child sexual abuse isn't something new - 1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men are sexually abused before they turn 18.  90% are sexually abused by someone they know.  68% are sexually abused by a family member.  That's what I find reprehensible.

    Thank you,

It's sad, that here we are six months later, STILL talking about Joe Paterno...I bolded what I think is the most important part...
