  •  I cannot argue with you - is it not time (5+ / 0-)

for the pendulum to start swinging the other way?

    •  Hell if I know... (7+ / 0-)

I am no Pollyanna, I have no crystall ball and I don't speculate.
I fear the 2 billion dollars of lying propaganda to be spent on defeating
      Our President Obama.
I fear the abject, intense racial hatred many bear for Our President Obama.
I Fear the successful voter suppression of many thousands of
      Our American Citizens.
I also fear a repeat similiar to the presidential election of 2000, when an obsolete "Electoral College" process (which favours reactionaries)
and a group of partisan so-called "Justices" gave the election
to the vile war criminal GW Bush, even though Gore won the direct vote!
All of the above make for very dire circumstances a few months from now.
The proof will be in the pudding...

! The swinistic greed and racial hatred of the American ruling elite is abysmal ! - joe wobblie

    •  Folks, we have to grab that pendulum and shove (5+ / 0-)

it with all we got in the correct direction.

It isn't going to shift towards our way without a major movement, and we have to marshall the issues which help coalesce a majority groundswell, and a momentum that's impossible to deny.  Women's rights seems it should be a relatively easy 51% of all voters (all female ones), plus the fair number of men who support these rights, maybe another 25-30% of voters at worst, but at best may be more.  We should have 80% of voters except we have fundamentalists & pro-Lifers twisting the minds of around 30% to 40%.  Moving the pendulum means we need to do some deprogramming.  If we can deprogram 5%, election results would shift enough to move the pendulum.  If we can deprogram 10% we get enough momentum to retake the nation.  But we'll need another 10% at that point to rebuild all the infrustructure damaged over the last 3 decades.
