that'll be sure to unite the confederacy.  That and the fact that mitten loves his grits will be sure to bring the South out in droves to vote for him.  If she's on the ticket, I foresee a lot of Southerners with something better to do the first Tuesday in November.

Democrats? We already know Romney is going to take the deep southern states, and Texas, and the conservative rural tier from Oklahoma up to the Dakotas and down thru Idaho, Wyoming, and Utah, and the border states of TN and KY and WV, even with a Rubio or a Rice (or a Palin) as the vice presideint candidate. How does a Rice, or even a Rubio (sure didn't work for Palin in 2008), help pick up independents and Democrats in Ohio, Michigan, Iowa, Colorado, Nevada, Pennsylvania, or Virginia?

H'mm. I'm not terribly into this, anymore.

        •  That's a good question (0+ / 0-)

Actually I don't think that anyone can really help Romney with his fundamental problem. No one, even Republicans, really likes him very much. That lack of enthusiasm might cost him swing states and I don't think that any VP candidate can really change that (god I hope so!). At best some republicans might think that Condi as VP would make the party appear to be more open to African Americans and Hispanics.

      that matter....never has been.

However, I am more worried that she would pull enough moderates to make a difference.  She is pro choice, she is moderate is a lot of ways and that might make a small but measurable difference in the race in their direction with the indies.
