    Lying on your tax forms (fraud) there is no limitation period. I'm not sure about lying to the SEC, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (under oath, I believe), or FEC disclosure forms. Many statutes of limitations have a fraudulent concealment exception, that runs the statute from when the fraud was discovered.

    But criminal indictment isn't the point here, just as it wasn't with John Edwards (or shouldn't have been). Trustworthiness and the ability to tell the same story twice, versus just signing whatever form was put in front of his nose for today's profit, is the point.
