Sad to say, but I believe that Walker will finish his term as Governor before any substantial criminal charges catch up to him. I would be extremely happy to see Walker behind bars, but I don't hold out a lot of hope.

Our best strategy is to hold the senate and do our damnedest to flip the assembly. "Governor Compas" sounds beautiful, no?

...Scott Walker does NOT want Lori Compas running against him in 2014 if Walker runs for re-election. If Walker runs for re-election and runs anti-Compas ads before Compas decides whether or not to run for governor, it will be the biggest single mistake Walker has ever made in his entire political career. He's only asking to lose re-election if he does that. If Compas can get a statewide campaign going and build up the grassroots, it's game over for Walker and Company.

If Compas doesn't run for Governor (again, we're talking about an election that is more than two years away, so we don't have even a remote idea of what the field might look like), there are many other good Democrats in Wisconsin that might consider a 2014 gubernatorial run. Peter Barca, Jon Erpenbach, Mark Miller, Kathleen Vinehout, Tom Barrett, Mahlon Mitchell, Chris Larson, Kelda Roys, Mark Pocan, Jessica King...the list goes on. I sure hope Kathleen Falk doesn't try to slime the works up like she did in the recall primary.
