  •  I've worked at a TBTF bank (5+ / 0-)

in Energy lending. I worked with tons of MBAs and Finance people. I was appalled by the pride in which many of them took in getting through college without actually getting an education. How few books they had to read, how few papers they had to write; the whole thing was jaw dropping to me.

Now that I am at a community bank, I can see the vast difference in how these entities are treated. I do some risk analysis for my employer and am well aware of our fundamentals. It's old fashioned in a simple respect - we are there to serve our community and keep depositors' money safe. The entire banking system is supposed to be built on TRUST. These super-large banks are eroding that trust every single day.

I shared a townhouse apartment with four other people.

Three MBA candidates lived next door.

I couldn't believe how dumb they were.

I'm quite sure that not all people with MBAs are stupid.  But it seemed even then that people who just wanted to make a ton of money and didn't much care how they did it gravitated toward MBA programs.

To make the argument that the media has a left- or right-wing, or a liberal or a conservative bias, is like asking if the problem with Al-Qaeda is do they use too much oil in their hummus. Al Franken
