  •  At least John Edwards believed in something. But I (5+ / 0-)

agree Romney will implode before november and it wont be pretty for republicans.

    •  he did? (5+ / 0-)

And I ask that as someone who supported him. Sorry, but I think he believed in the awesomeness of John Edwards, and little else.

And all I got from him was weasel.  100% grade-A weasel.

        •  How I got myself into that embarrassing (0+ / 0-)

          position:

I made the decision to back the candidate whose policy positions best reflected my own, and to ignore personality as much as humanly possible. I was angry at Clinton for her war votes, which I felt were obvious chess moves made with an eye towards 2008 and showed callous disregard of her constituents' wishes (of whom I was one). I found Obama purposefully vague on policy and distrusted the magical charisma that my younger friends were enraptured by (and I'm still not starry-eyed about him).

I saw Edwards speak in person fairly early on, and there was no magic there either, but he was saying what I wanted to hear. Nothing I'm proud of, but I did learn that character counts.

      •  I agree (0+ / 0-)

The guy was a centrist New Democrat until he realized that he had a bunch of lefty activists he could win over in 2008. Russ Feingold, whose integrity is beyond question, said that he always had a bad feeling about Edwards and refused to support him in 2008. He suspected what was up, I think.
