        here. I assumed maybe incorrectly that it was that way all over.

        was an overly-broad statement, as I live in a place where they actually tax food but the SNAP program does not pay that tax out of the benefits and thankfully I don't have to make up that tax out of my pocket for food I buy with SNAP.
