    ...of the Romney brand

See, Mitt Romney's whole campaign is based on the idea that he's run a business, so he knows how to create jobs.  One problem

    •  So many gems from Jon last night. (7+ / 0-)

Nobody gives a shit about those two years!  It'd be like if the Keith Richards autobiography was called "My Years as a Movie Pirate".
Jon (and his writing crew) know how create the perfect simile for the occasion.

Here's what Romney doesn't understand.  Nobody cares that Mitt Romney is rich. It's Romney's inability to understand the institutional advantage that he gains from the government's tax code largesse.  That's a little offensive to people, especially considering Romney's view on anyone else who looks to the government for things like, I don't know, food and medicine.
That perfectly encapsulates the truth about middle class/99% anger that's got the Republicans so damn worried. And this is all coming from TV news comedians--nothing this true and incisive dares to come from mainstream "journalists".

These are troubling times. Corporations are treated like people. People are treated like things. ... If we ever needed to vote we sure do need to vote now. — Rev. Dr. William Barber, II to the NAACP, July 11, 2012
