    many to most modern CEOS were NOT present at the inception of the companies they head. Most CEOs are not promoted from within the ranks.

    Most come from other companies and were handed the position by the board members whose own companies have a seat for said CEO.

    It's incestual. They all sit on one another's boards and make decisions that don't necessarily reflect the needs or best interests of the company for which they are deciding.
