  •  But that's the conservative GOP SOP. (4+ / 0-)

You run against the candidate you can beat, not against the candidate you actually have.

Rovian, Orwellian, Norquistian and fantasy-based. As long as you have a large pool of hateful voters and a wholly-owned media chorus, you don't have to face reality. You create your own and drown the truth. In a bathtub. Once you've shrunk it enough.

    •  Lord knows it is fantasy (0+ / 0-)

to offer up Barack Obama as anything but the corporate-friendly stooge and hope-killer he is.

If Romney's honest, he would admit that Obama has been  a much more effective Reagan Revolution rearguard force than he could ever hope to be.

Romney should be on his knees, thanking Obama.  The ingrate.

Still, Romney is doing the lords work.  Because the dumbassery is additive in 'centrist', 'third-way' politicking.

Win or lose, every bit of drvel Romney articulates helps keep the ruling consensus pegged at right, while providing essential cover for Obama's own priceless, essential stoogery.

Here's how it works (and you won't hear this often at dkos so pay attention)(anyone):  Romney, as Ronald Reagan's true product and intellectual heir, provides the thought leadership, while Obama, as a vigorous librul wonk, is a much better executive/manager and face for the failed and stinking (if anyone's paying attention, few are apparently) Reagan REvolution corpse that we're all buried under.

Please don't feed the security state.
