  •  BigAl, could you expand on that? (0+ / 0-)

No doubt I'm naive in many ways, but the discussions in today's two diaries on this event don't seem dishonest to me, even though some commenters have axes to grind.

FWIW, I have several Syrian law clients, so I do try to keep up.

total sum the last few months.  I can say, as with the Iraq war and the Libya war, I and others have been called an Assad supporter numerous times for pointing out the real complexities regarding Syria, not what the MSM is telling us.  As many here, I've been following what's happening from the start.  People here simply do not want to hear it. So be it.

subtlety, complexity, and nuance very well.

People tend to jump on one or another of two or three sides and start piling up.   Too much foot stomping and not enough listening (or even writing to be heard).

        It's very frustrating many times.

Syria is a hugely complex situation.  If there was an easy solution or even a straight-forward solution, I have no doubt the USA would have acted by now.

Obama has shown no reluctance to use drones wherever desired. There are no small targets aside from assassinating a national leader. That could cause all sorts of turmoil.

No fly zone or something else?  Wouldn't solve the situation either.  Maybe "Safety Zones" near the border, protected by the Turks, but how would people get there safely?  Who would fund millions of people in refugee camps?

There are just no simple answers.
