    ... increases the volatility of the balance of demand.

    And solar and wind tend to be inversely correlated across the day, and on average higher output days from one tend to be lower output days from the other, so a portfolio of both solar and wind is less variable than either alone.

      being a wind and solar engineer, I've got a ton of data. I should write a paper correlating load, wind, and solar data across various time scales.
