  •  a lot of questions remain (0+ / 0-)

Powell says as a military intelligence expert, he knew the intelligence about the Iraq war was fixed to match the policy.

    1) So why didn't he tell the public that the intelligence was bad, that the administration was lying, before thousands of American soldiers were killed, tens of thousands of soldiers were wounded, and over a million people in that country died, and hundreds of billions of dollars of America's dollars were spent on this unnecessary war??

It's totally safe for Powell to say now that he was against the Iraq war, that the intelligence was fixed--years after the Downing street memo has come out, after former administration insiders have admitted that the Bush administration wanted war.

    2) If Powell is claiming that he knew that the intelligence was bad, if indeed he knew this long before the Invasion of Iraq, he should tell the American public what he knows about the fixed intelligence, who requested it, how it was used to sell a war, and so on.  Furthermore, what does such an admission mean in terms of prosecution of Bush administration officials?  President Obama exempted his predecessor's lawbreaking and has continued many of the same Bush policies so objectionable to many of us just a few years ago.

    3) Regarding the current illegal covert wars in Iran and Syria and other countries, what does Powell say about the propaganda and coverage, and possibility of more wars on these countries and their civilian populations?  Is Powell going to publicly oppose these illegal and unnecessary wars as well, or is he going to remain mum until after the wars escalate?  Will he push his supporters to tell the President that the American people don't support war in Syria and Iran?  Or will Powell profess ignorance and be a loyal partisan, dutifully rubber stamping anything and everything that the President, his "Commander in Chief" proposes, right or wrong?

    4) As former military intelligence, what does Powell think about why 9/11 occurred?

Not all your questions, but I have to comment re Powell not speaking up (way to beat up on a very credible Cantor opponent, btw)
Richard Clarke tried doggedly to get bush administration to notice al quaeda to no avail.
I don't think that Powell would have had any better luck.

And he uses it to shoot down a Dem and consequently support Eric Cantor.

I don't consider that to be very credible.

. . . is in the video.  We are not stupid or gullible here and it is insulting of you to imagine we are.

Go find the authoritarian followers you need and are searching for somewhere else.  You will not find any here.
