were presiding over a struggling economy as well.  I hope the pres wins in November, but you can't separate the mood of voters from what's happening in the economy come election day.

As well. I vividly recall the Carter-Kennedy primary and how Carter chased Kennedy around the stage at the convention in hopes to get him to shake hands, not sure if that happened.

I recall Poppy Bush -- Buchanan Primary and Ross Perrot stepping in.

It's difficult to say what the outcome would have been with either one without the bitter primaries, if it would truly have been on the economy, or even if those primaries would have happened in the first place if the economy would have been better.

Notice that Obama is using comments effectively made during Romney's primary opponents.

I do think the Primary of Obama-Clinton was exceptional historically, two well liked Democrats with real class, enough so they put it behind them.

Notice Clinton's comment on the ads using her against Pres Obama--Wasted Money'

I think the broader point is who do voters feel more comfortable with, trust more, feel that their choice truly is 'more like them' can understand them & their personal economic situation within the economy, in order to vote for the candidate.
