    After suffering a life of rape by her stepfather, C is simply terrified of being housed next to a person who committed such a horrible rape himself.

        You should become a prison correspondent and you will find out that there are prisoners who are making amends and deserve their freedom back.

          I'm not suggesting everyone in prison is a bad person beyond redemption, but I do make the point that you are, by the nature of it, going to run into a lot of bad people who have done bad things. I don't know that a rapist is any worse than a murderer.

            They are in there for a reason.

            Now, some of those reasons may be justified, or understandable. (Stealing food to eat, or assaulting somebody who has threatened you, for examples).

            And some people locked up are not guilty but have been convicted anyway.
