    I'm saying it's not in the Fannie workers economic self interest to do anything but push paper.

    Remember that these are private companies owned (chartered) by the gummint. They are not responsible for maximizing social good.

    And is there any indication why ripstar, or whatever the mortgage holder is called, got such a premium from Fannie land ... Aside, I suppose, from bailout legislation allowing them to siphon off public funds?
