    sounds familiar, and it may be that I've read one or more of her books, but I can't remember for sure.  I look forward to checking them out.  I do love the old mysteries.

    I finished The Limpopo Academy of Private Detection,  Alexander McCall Smith's newest novel in the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency series.   I just purely love this series and every character in it.  I also took a chance on a Peter Lovesey novel.  For some reason I thought I didn't like his novels, but I must have confused him with someone else, because I really did enjoy this one - Cop to Corpse.  I'll look for more by him.  Right now I'm reading A Detective at Death's Door by H. R. F. Keating.  I have some quibbles about some of it, but mostly it's a good book, too.
