    I know that the Affordable Care Act bars insurance companies from using pre-existing conditions as a basis to bar someone's access to health insurance....but, can an insurance company still use pre-existing conditions as a basis for charging me higher insurance rates under ACA?

    •  I think there is community rating, which means (0+ / 0-)

      the pool for a community has everyone being charged the same, without respect to age, gender, pre-existing condition or a few other common tricks used by insurance companies to deny coverage and save their bonuses.
