  •  Great job, Jan. (9+ / 0-)

The president gave an adult speech to the Urban League this evening.
He doesn't get enough credit for the sophisticated way he interacts with the American electorate. No other politician has come close to addressing us with such maturity.

    •  I would like to echo that, "Great job, Jan"! (5+ / 0-)

I had not yet seen the Stephanie Cutter video response. Did I hear correctly that when Bain & Company was about to go bankrupt it received a $10m bailout from the FDIC? LOL Wut? I've been keeping up with this stuff -- or so I thought -- but had never heard that one.

I also wonder how many employee pension funds were reimbursed by the federal government because Bain or one of its other vampire entities had sucked the company dry and left the pensions un- or under-funded? I wonder what that number is in the tens or hundreds of millions of dollars?

Romney has sucked the government clean of millions of dollars -- all to make his fortune that he's stashed overseas.

Thanks for the ONN, JanF! You brought the sizzle tonight! I also wanted to add to JoanMar that President Obama is respected by me because he doesn't talk down to anybody. He has that old-style maturity, the kind that I've seen from the better Presidents in news reels from bygone eras.

I would tip you, but the man took away my tips.

It doesn't take much to sizzle when we have this kind of content put out by the campaign. Intelligent people like Stephanie Cutter explaining in clear terms how big the lies are is only part of it. They are not letting the lies gain any traction and they are not afraid to say "that is simply not true".

You are 100% right. They made so much of George W. Bush and people "wanting to have a beer with him". I never saw that in him. I always thought he was a doofus whose wealth was inherited. Why would I want to have a drink with an idiot?

President Obama, on the other hand, seems the kind of guy who a person could sit and have a conversation with on a comfortable level ... human to human. And it is because he was not born of privilege nor did he have wealth safety nets to catch him if he made mistakes.

He is both good and smart. A very nice combination.

Maturity is a good description of how he approaches just about everything. After 8 years of frat-boy Bush, it is like a breath of fresh air.
