  •  This election is hard now and will get harder for (10+ / 0-)

    this very emotional, working-class Italian.

I'm down in the morning and up in the afternoon.

    And vicey-versey.

I actually spent some time daydreaming while I was driving today hoping to come into some extra jack to bestow on the Obama campaign. And I also plan to do some intense phonebanking soon, and will actually politely argue with some real recalcitrant customers if necessary.

This is real, and this is serious.

    •  I'm like you... (7+ / 0-)

up one minute, thinking "he can't lose!"; down the next minute, thinking "he can't win."

This election is going to wreak havoc with my nerves.

    •  I am a wreck (8+ / 0-)

Good poll and I am in a good mood.  Bad poll and I am in a bad poll.   My blood pressure is going to be in trouble for the next few months.  That said, there are some great posters including the Daily Kos election writers who keep things in perspective.  So long as the president is re-elected and we don't lose the Senate,  I expect my sanity to prevail in the long run... I am also doing my part to contribute to Dems up and down ballot so I am not uselessly hand wringing instead of contributing in a productive manner.

I vote Democratic because I am a woman with self-respect , who rejects bigotry of all kinds, subscribes to science, believes in universal health care, embraces unions, and endorses smart internationalist foreign policy.

I was incredibly (seriously) depressed yesterday morning, and then by the evening I felt better.  It has been a constant up and down for me emotionally.  I am such an idealist that I have to hope for the best.  I know I shouldn't let it affect me as much -- it is what it is -- but it's just too hard to separate it.  These up and down polls are going to put me in the stress center, ;).

      •  Hey, at least we're all in this together! (0+ / 0-)

Somebody just told me to relax a little, so I'll support you in that. We will live with whatever comes.
