  •  The point for me is... (5+ / 0-)
Never saw a firearm converted to meth
If it's fine to inconvenience ME and invade my privacy when I need headache relief (ostensibly to fight crimes committed with legal products), why is so unthinkable we might ask the same inconvenience of gun owners?

suffer from sinus headache. If you have one, all the Tylenol on the planet will not make it go away without something to relieve the sinus pressure.

      •  OK, I'll spell it out for you, (6+ / 0-)

allergies cause swelling of the sinus tissues. The swollen tissues press against your sinus cavity and cause pain and discomfort. Sinus meds contain ingredients that counteract the allergic reaction and shrink swollen sinus tissues and relieving the pressure, pain and discomfort.

That's why they're on the market, and that's why most people buy them. Not to make crystal meth.

You know. Like how most people buy guns to hunt and protect themselves, not go on shooting rampages in movie theaters.

Don't need a background check. No call to the FBI by the pharmacist.

You can be a felon and still buy Sudafed. You can even get it from someone else's Momma if you run short.

The silly comparison to gun rights is what I object to.

Find a better analogy.  Better yet.  Take a Sudafed and take a nap.

It's an annoyance, granted minor, to show your driver's license and wait for the clerk to go get the book, write down your name and address.

            It's also Orwellian.

It also strikes me as another moronic "war on drugs" window dressing law that DC likes to pass that have little, if any, effect on addressing the actual problem of meth trafficking.

Yep. That will do it. Have every American show their license. Way to go DC.

very similar, and living around as many meth/crack addicts I take that problem very seriously...as well.

both are clumsy govt intrusions to attempt to counter a societal problem..or at least to appear to do so.

little objection to well written and effective laws. window dressing laws decrease support for the better ones.

              fckn messy innit?
