    The first amendment is quite clear, and Bloomberg is 100% correct in pointing this out. Do you really want governments to have the power to ban businesses based on whether government officials agree with what business owners are saying? Because that's a a very dark road, not to mention 100% unconstitutional.

    Look, the owners of Chick Fil-A are jerks and bigots, and all this press will rightly cost them business. I'm all for a nation wide boycott.

    But that doesn't mean that governments can punish free speech.

    As for the notion that this lawsuit proves discrimination under city laws - I'm dubious. I doubt any city could win such a case based on one unresolved lawsuit. If more resolved cases come to light, this could change.
