Many, many comments in this trainwreck have explained that.

Are you aware that Egypt just changed leader?  Do you know who Mohamed Morsi is?

    My comment explaining the distinction.

definition of Islamist is -- not what other people's definitions are.

The link to your comment does not answer cc's question.

As for Mohamed Morsi -- as the Diarist wrote above the jury is still out on Egypt as it is far too early to know what direction Egypt will take as they have not yet even finalized their government or laws yet.

I think it's pretty outrageous for anyone to claim they know what laws Egypt will impose at this point.

Islamist and Islamism as a political philosophy.  It isn't about what auron's definition is.  The one he lays out in the comment he linked to is a good definition of contemporary Islamism.

There revolution will not be televised. But it will be blogged, a lot. Probably more so than is necessary.

We have no clue where Egypt is going yet, so incorrect to label Egypt as Islamist even if Islamic. Again the words are similar, confusing & bigoted by their confusion.

    •  Many have explained Egypt is still in transition (1+ / 0-)
