    subscribers.  When I try to access it I get a sign-in window.

      Probably for good reason--cable or satellite are not cheap anymore, if they ever were. But you can't then blame NBC--which needs high ratings out of this--for showing the most popular events rather than the niche sports that interest you. It's not personal, it's only business.

        NBC has so completely monopolized the coverage in the US that there is simply no (completely legal - that I've found) way for me access Olympics coverage without subscribing to cable/dish.  I get that they are a business and have to make money, and I strongly believe in paying for services that I use.  I'd happily pay to subscribe to the NBC Live extra site.  However I flat-out refuse to subsidize America's Next Top Model.
