    they only need so many votes at such and such specific time, plus disenfranchising voters.  That last point is especially important since Chik-Fil-A can't disenfranchise eaters from being hungry.

    In short, vile politicians don't need every vote.  Businesses can't be that picky about their customers.  The ones that make it clear they won't bust their butts trying to please bigots usually do well...case in point: JCPenney.
