progressive or environmentally friendly, but I am very surprised at how many folks are on the "Lets go to KFC bandwagon."

The idea that our industrialized food system could ever be progressive- with its blatant animal abuse, human rights violations, immense pollution, destruction of the family farm and resulting prohibition of small scale food production, is just astounding.

KFC or CFA- doesn't matter. They are both products of a system of immense destruction, cruelty, and rapacious greed.

I'm not perfect. My wife and I eat fast food every once in a while. We can't afford to buy all organic food* at the moment (can't wait until I have my own garden and then farm), but we don't kid ourselves into thinking that it is progressive.

*And of course, organic comes with its own host of issues- most of it is industrial as well.

A Victory Garden documents my family's experience transitioning from suburban lawn to edible food forest based on permaculture principles. A new blog following my life as an immigrant in Finland will be up soon.
