have these protestors in Anaheim broken?

You're right, this certainly is a display intended for deterrence, but I would submit that the camouflage and large tear gas guns are intended to deter lawful assembly and First Amendment protected activity in addition to any potential violence. Just last week, a peaceful demonstration of people in Anaheim was broken up by cops firing rubber bullets; they even set a police dog on an unarmed person. Many people were injured.

If nonviolent demonstrators are disobeying a lawful order, this does not render any subsequent action by the police to be justified, in my opinion; any police response should be proportional and should be tilted toward keeping the peace and away from escalating the situation. That's what the police are for, right? Keeping the peace? I'm not saying people who commit civil disobedience should be immune to arrest or other consequences, but what we saw with the Occupy demonstrations was a sequence of wildly disproportional police responses that would be referred to as state repression if they had happened in any other country.

Won't somebody think of the windows?
If anyone tries to break a window we have to act quickly to beat, jail, kill, and rape the terrorist, before they cost a job creator literally tens of dollars.
