    then I read Ryan Lizza's takedown ofPaul Ryan in the New Yorker (Why couldn't Bush sell the privatization of Social Security? Ryan thinks it's that Bush didn't try hard enough) and E.J. Dionne on Romney's "traction." Dionne sees this republican campaign as an effort to define "centrist" as far-left liberalism, and uses the word "lie" more than once.  I'd diary this too, but I have a bunch of research to do for stuff involving my day job.

    This is a very clear and sensible way of looking at the election, and we just have to hope that the voters involve have some way to handle the Republican big lie.
