which Democrat got the nomination He or she would be elected and ther would not be another Republican Candidate elected to the office for at least 30 years.

The fact this thing is even close proves only one thing -  40%  of Americans are willing to vote against having Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid as long as they can

    1) Keep their guns and wear and use them whenever and whereever  they please

    2) Force women to bear the fruits of their lust

    3) Make killing Gays and Blacks a totally legal endeavor

Probably the best thing that can happen to the country at this point is that Rich Momney,  or whatever his name is, does become the President because once that happens and these fringe groups realize how badly they have been duped they will begin venting their rage where it really belongs and then it will be aleast 100 years before another Republican even dares to run for the office.

Things that should have been obvious on the day Congress opened in 2009:

      * The GOP would try to "Harry and Louise" not only healthcare reform, but anything else worthwhile the Dems proposed.

      * The Senate was on the razor's edge of filibuster paralysis, so without filibuster reform the GOP would be able to stop or water down everything.

      * A significant % of the public will always be eager to believe the GOP's message of the Free Lunch: you can have everything you want or need from government, AND it should cost you less in taxes, and if it doesn't work out it must be the fault of The Other (blacks, gays, criminals, drug users, terrorists, bureaucrats, socialists, welfare queens, the unemployed, socialists, anticolonial Kenyan Manchurian candidates--insert scapegoat du jour). This conveniently excuses mainstream America from doing anything different.

"A man is his own easiest dupe, for what he wishes to be true he generally believes to be true." Demosthenes wrote that 2400 years ago; long enough for even Democrats to read it.

Yes, I will vote for the Dems anyway. They are clearly the Lesser Evil. And I will damn sure turn out and vote.

"The true strength of our nation comes not from the might of our arms or the scale of our wealth, but from the enduring power of our ideals." - Barack Obama
