Just hard to take Cruz, period.

Not a stellar choice, but one I fortunately haven't had to make.

    •  My question is sincere, though (0+ / 0-)

If there's any evidence Dewhurst would be likely to vote differently on debt ceiling extensions or appointments, that would make a real difference.

      •  Who's to say (0+ / 0-)

Obama has been different than what I thought he would be
As the old saying goes--DC is a cesspool until you get elected and then it's a hot tub

        •  We're not talking about Obama here (0+ / 0-)

We're talking about two Republicans. If there's any difference between a Paulist and an establishment Republican that could be of any benefit to Democrats (or, I'd argue, the country), it would be on the debt ceiling and possibly (though that's increasingly unlikely) on some appointments.

than Cruz--but that's not saying much
My point wasn't to make it about Obama--just the general idea that politicians don't govern the way they campaign--so again who's to say how either of them would vote

i think dewhurst is just bought enough to stay saner-than-some, and that's the best we get from the opposition party these days.

Is this an election or a buyout?

they're calling Cruz a teabagger, not a Paulist.  Can someone erudite explain the diff., and tell me why Cruz is one and not the other?  I think I know, but I've also thought he was teabag, not "Lib"(-ertarian).
